Valve Cover Stud
is there anyway to fix the hole the valve cover stud goes into the head?
the previous owner either hammered or screwed a larger stud into the hole, and I want to know before i try to take it out.. because it is doing an alright job so far, but i want to take it out and replace it with a proper one..
has anyone made that hole a little bigger and still use a proper valve cover stud in the hole?

You'll have to have a machine shop drill out the hole and recast and die a new slot for the stud. Don't spend money when its not needed.
Edit: You can't do this by yourself, unless you have access to aluminum machining tools.
