Oil pan gasket stuck to oil pan.. HELP!
It seems that in the 140k miles and 10 years this car has been around the pan was never dropped and gasket never replaced. Now that I've pulled it, the gasket seems to have melted onto the pan or something. I tried pulling it and prying it off, no go, just came off in little chunks very slowly. Used a razor blade after that, but now I have a thin layer of rubber attached to the pan.
Any ideas on how to get that off aside from just continuing to scrape?
Or should I just leave it and put a thin layer of honda bond on when I put it back on?

you are on the right track. i'd try some brake cleaner and a rag and then rotate with the razor. careful not to scratch the surface. also, if all the bolts are torq'd down properly, then the gasket should be sufficient, and you shouldn't need hondabond.
I guess I was just concerned with if there was some rubber from the old one still on there and it didn't seal properly..
I actually have one.. working around the little alignment bumps and damaging the pan concerned me though.. was hoping some chemical might take the rubber off..
don't use a friggin torch, just get yourself a wire wheel and an electric angle grinder. I like the knotted wire wheels, or the cups are cool too. Quick and easy
