where to mount the sensor(for water temp gauge on a d16z6)
can someone show some pics of where to install the sending unit(from a autometer water temp gauge) on a d16z6????? (the reason i ask id because on my friends gsr, there is a "plug" that removes from the block and the sending unit screws right in)

get an ac auto technique hose adapter. you just have to cut the radiator hose , clamp this piece in between and screw the sensor into it.
i tried installing one of them autozone temp gauges
and the lil parts that u plug ur sending unit into and then plug that into ur block , none of them would fit the opening on my block do i have to get one especially for civic or did i plug it in the wrong place i tried plugging it in under the dizzy , i was told that's the right plug and the lil plugs that come with the gauge don't fit
, so like i said do i just need to get me one for civic or wat?? my temp gauge isn't working for year and a half now , so if anyone knows which gauge i need can u tell me

that will only work if the gauge he is trying to install is mechanical.
so is your gauge mechanical or electrical?
from my experience mechanical is better. more accurate i mean, harder to install but more acurate. and i do suggest coupling into the top radiator hose, you can make it look clean if you do it right.
electrical sending units absord heat from the block and head and translate that into in-accurate water temps.
i hope this gives you some help

</TD></TR></TABLE> it's mechanical......is there anyway to install it (without tappind into the rad hose and still keep the stock water gauge also??)????

since its mechanical you will need to find a place to "tap" into a water source. thats why people use the radiator hose cuz its easy to work on and the sensor will give you an accurate reading with out absorbing heat from the block/head.
you can also take off the water outlet (the thing that holds the thermostat) and tap your own hole

this looks identical to mine.

i think i'mma go back to auto zone and get me that 12 dollar gauge
and put the bish in there , what gauge was used with that tap in the pic?

i tried tapping it into stock sender and the gauge comes with 3 plugs u plug the gauge in one of those plugs and then u take that plug that comes with the gauge and u plug it in where ur stock sender is going, but in my case 3 different plugs that came with the gauge , none of them would fit my stock sender plug they were too big
by tappin into i mean splicin in wit the wire. thats it. problem solve.
