Clouds upon Clouds of white smoke!
hello well today my car started putting out clouds of white smoke. i'm not sure what it is but i would guess its coolant. but my dad seems to think its straight fuel. would could the cause of this problem me. its a d16z2 the euro version of the a6. also it bogs down hard when you give it gas.
my guess is a blown head gasket, i believe unburnt fuel is black smoke, blue is oil, and white is coolant. someone correct me if im wrong.
Here is your old post may have answers in there instead of creating new ones...

i ran a wrong line somewhere on my carb once and there was really bad white smoke that smelt like gas very badly. if it smells sweet then its coolant, if it smells like gas then its gas (obviously)
My car does this too. everyone told me white was coolant. i knew it was oil. if it's on top end mostly, that's rings my friend. i put a new head on my car and it didnt help. the problem is the rings. once they wear out so much the end gap opens too far and oil blows by, then the tips of the rings start to chip out and then your compression goes kaploot. if it's got high miles, time for a rebuild or swap.
ps. oil can be white or blue, depending on the dye used in the oil mostly. (yes, oils have dyes in them usually)
raw fuel will come out as a HAZE...........kinda like when it's sweltering hot out and you look down the road and it's all blurry like...........makes a haze..........it won't really smoke much. you will sure smell it and see your gas mileage go downt he tubes too. I'm at the point now where i'm trying to ditch the old 4 door to someone that wants a project, and buy a SI hatch to build. (all i'd need to do is build the good ole' sohc to my liking and put a vtec head on it.........MPFI already done, and hatchbacks are lighter
In conclusion............
your car has bad rings, a compression test will tell you this. if your car has a bad head gasket, just let it idle for like 30 mins in your driveway and then drain your oil, you would see antifreeze ontop of the oil (easy to see, it actually sits on top of the oil)
if it's raw fuel, it's probably because your o2 Censor is out, or your car just has that low of compression and since you run DPFI your car sucks and it doesnt create enough vacum on one or more of the cylynders forcing the fuel to puddle up etc........ like mine! all i can say is
