what vtec engines engage vtec like that Prelude?does the Si?
i was wondering, does the vtec engage on the civic si like how the prelude does,or a type S? do you feel that noticable boost at a certain rpm??? might be dumb question, i didnt see anything bout this, i did search before i get battered with hate bout not searching. thanks
The point of VTEC is to have a seemless transition between two sets of cam lobes. There is no surge of power.
The most noticeable change in sound on the H22 and B18C1 is the opening of the secondary intake manifold runners (IAB).

oh i see, so then it is continuously activated to create low end torque throughout the rpm range as opposed to it being more obiviousle activated and felt in the type r or the lude?
My point is that you won't feel anything at the VTEC crossover.
