gt35r or gt40 on b18c1?...
i was wondering if the 35r or 40 is better....i use to have the sc61 but looking for a turbo that is similar to the sc61 or abit bigger....does anyone know the spooling rpm of both of the turbo?...since they're ball bearing turbo dont they suppose to spool up quicker than the sc61?...i get full boost/18lb @ 5k rpm on the sc61...tell me what you guys think whick bb turbo would be the best route....lookin to get somewhere in the 450 hp+ range...
since your only shooting for 450whp area I would go with the GT35R.... the 40R would be way over kill for your set-up..... most people running the 40R are in the 700+ range some less but most more...

450hp or more if possible
450hp or more if possible
im not sure about the spool time of the 35R.... if you search you will probably be able to find that.... yes the 40R is going to be to big for you...... well the 35R will be plenty big for around 500whp

i'd say go with either the SC61 or the T3/67...if this is just a street car...you'll be fine with either

If you're looking for "450+ HP" a T3/T67 HO is overkill, way overkill. Their H22 is running a GT4067, not a T3/T67 HO though.

Check out the spool on an 81.5mm GSR motor. Your SC61 will make 600 WHP without a problem. The T3/T67 HO is a proven 700+ WHP turbo. Stick with your SC61, or if you want quicker spool move up to a GT35R, you should be able to get a few hundred RPM's out of it. How about you set a real HP goal, because 450+ HP can mean 451 HP, or it could mean 800 HP.

I had a t3t/t67 stg. 3 wheel .63 a/r and it was a nice turbo good spool, good power. Then I upgraded to the H.O, and it just spooled up to late for my taste. I know everyones setup is different but that was just my experience with it. I switched to a gt35r and love it.

The H.O will make more power overall with more psi obviously.
That's why it's always important to pick the right turbo for your setup, and goal. I chose the gt35r because it was exactly what I was looking for. A quick spool, and something capable of putting down between 600-650. Despite what it's rated at it still had some more left in it.

The second turbo is the T3/T67 with the T3 stage 5 wheel. The HO has the T4 P-trim wheel and spools a fair bit slower than the non-HO version.

so your saying that the H.O would have an even later spool, correct???? I could post a dyno chart with the H.O on but I think you get what I'm saying

okay cool, that's what I thought. The H.O just spooled way to late on my setup. I think the H.O in a t4 frame with .68 a/r is much nicer, but that's a t4.
Back on topic. I think turbochargeb18c would have been fine with the sc61. It's a nice turbo, but if it's between a gt35r and gt40r. The gt35r is the way to go. The gt40r will be to big for your goals.
Good luck with your setup!

actually i have the t3/t67 H.O. p-trim .82 a/r and it spools almost exactly the same as the .63 a/r stage 5 wheel. call full-race and theyll tell ya the same thing. pretty amazing if you ask me. H.O. > stg 5 anyday of the week! i made 395whp on a measly 12psi and completely stock gsr engine in my civic awhile back back for the hell of it.
the turbo is truely amazing. im currently building for 700+whp on the H.O. so we will see if it will do it or not. it has been done already so lets do it again!

yeah...the gt35r sounds nice...because my sc61 lock up on me and needed a new turbo fast for my next dyno session...i dont know if its just me but i dont know if anyone on heres having trouble w/ their precsion turbo...but thats why im thinkin bout just go ahead and order me a bb turbo...i was told that the bb turbo could take more abuse?...correct me if im wrong...but ill like the fast spool and the power it'll give me...does anyone knows who sellin one on here or where to get one for a decent price(i means not tryin to be a low baller, but dont want to over pay on the gt35r)....

my bad thans for correctin me...

lol.. our h22 is actually running a GT4088 .82 a/r.
our GSR is running T3/67 H.O. with a .82 a/r.
The T3/T67 spools up a bit later than the T3/67 because of the .82a/r.
But if your goal is only 450whp, we have a friend that is using a SC61 and is making 530whp@ 28psi.
I'd go with a GT35R for better spool up.
