Well I finally got my wheels in. It certainly made my day. I've got some good stats for those who are interested. Tom at Gruppe-S took good care of me. He said I was the first to order these from him, I know a few others already have theirs. I've seen no one with silver and no one put them on an S2K. I'm pretty sure I will be the first.

I had to steal the digital bathroom scale, but I got the weight on these. I'm sure a lot of people have been curious. These weights are close, but probably not exact.

Advan RGII
17x7.5 F+45 - 15.5lbs
17x8.5 R+50 - 16.5lbs

Advan Neova AD07
225/45/17 - 23.5lbs
245/40/17 - 25.5lbs

Buddy Club Racing Lug
18.5 oz. for a set of 20
---------------------------
Honda S2000(AP1)
16x6.5 17.5lbs
16x7.5 18.6lbs

---------------------------
Original Advan RG Cast
17x7.5 15.2lbs
17x8.5 16.5lbs

I've heard many rumors about the new RGIIs being forged. That rumor is false, strait from the horses mouth...

"The Advan RG2 marks Yokohama’s newest entry into the tuner wheel market. 'Using a flow-formed process, the center of the wheel is actually cast while the outer rim section is spun formed. Lighter than conventional casting and almost as strong as a forged wheel, Advan went with a longer, more dramatic, spoke design over its predecessor and cast a 3D logo in-between the spokes' preaches Eddie Lee of Mackin Industries (official North American importer of Advan Wheels)."

Nice pics & wheels. They remind me of ssr comps w/o the lip. The only thing i'd change is adding a front lip.

Forged Mugen MF10 17X7.5 - 14 lbs.
Forged Volk TE37 17x7.5 - 15.0 lbs.

Cast Enkei ES-Tarmac Cast 17x7.5 - 14.8 lbs.
CastAdvan Racing RG 17x7.5 - 15.2 lbs.
Cast/Spun formed Advan RGII 17x7.5 - 15.5 lbs.

care to explain what your thought process is on why forged wheels are overrated? is your opinion based only on weight of the wheel? I would say there are other factors that might lead someone to get forged over cast. ie the characteristics of how a forged wheel will fail versus that of a cast wheel. I would venture to guess at smaller sizes the weight might now very as much on larger and wider wheels between the two.

Sounds like the best of both worlds to me. The C-West full carbon S2K uses these wheels for competition, so I think they will suffice for my spirited street driving. I'm not here to have a debate on forged/cast. I'm just looking for comments on the car. Thanks

in this case that might be so but I read your comment as more of a blanket statement.

It's all good, Advan makes a quality wheel/tire and I'm happy with them. Forged is great, but I love mine anyway.

Thanks. When all was said and done I spent about $3k. A lip is next, then the hardtop...someday.
