buddy is going to sell a header for my dx coupe for 50 bucks, my question is will i get more worse gas mileage? my B7 gets like 40 mpg constantly and well.. im a broke college kid and its a 15 mile commute to college everyday.. so gas is killin me now already.. i travel about 500 miles per week for working/school/fun. thanks!

 

sounds like you dont need it...keep it stock

 

if you have some extra money lying around, why not? shouldn't it give you better gas mileage?

 

50 bucks for something that will do nothing for you plus the wasted time putting it on or 50 bucks that can get you nearly 2 full tanks of gas.

 

I say spend $50 on the motor. New plugs, cap, rotor and you should see better gas mileage then that. I would spend the money on getting better gas mileage. In the end you will be saving money if you fix the problem .

 

Naw they are not you can't feel anythin on a dx one of my friends told me so don't get em

 

well, does it actually waste more gas or save more gas? so far i have an intake and exhaust, and i can install it myself.. so i guess the question i wwant to ask is the gas savings part...

I would assume that the aftermarket header would waste gas. The stock header is designed to flow with your RPM range in mind and it helps to keep torque on low RPM's up. The aftermarket header usually sacrafices a little at the bottom end for a moderate increase at the top end. If you want better gas mileage, get one of those turbonator thingies and see if it works, then tell me

 

for your situation i would say just keep the stock one on there. unless you want to, i dont know, up to you
