What are some of the major symptoms of a clutch going bad?

Slipping and not being able to go into gear are usually dead giveaways.

 

and if u slip the clutch u will get the most horrid smell from under your hood had both of my cars clutches go at 95k

 

thats odd.....my clutch (as far as i know of) slips and i don't get a bad smell....

one time i wasn't thinking too much and decided to try to smell my clutch and drove down the road w/ my clutch half way in and smelled nothing. I also learned stick on this car and through that process never once smelled clutch. I know what clutch smells like too

 

i burnt the hell out of my clutch the other night and ever since then my shifts are smoother than ever...
