Default Engine oil consumption

03 civic with 42k miles. today when i changed my oil after 4000 miles, ( 2500 miles in 4 days on long drive trip, and 1500 local), i noticed i had a low oil coming out of engine, abbout half a quart. Is it normal ? i usually put 3.7 with filter. the way i measure is pour the oil in the milk gallon and notice if its low or on point. please advise. thanks

If you're stating that the motor consumed 1/2 quart of oil in 4000 miles, that's not an excessive amount of consumption.

I'm at 142,xxx with ZERO consumption. Do you notice if the oil is being burned and/or leaking?

I am at 202,xxx and I leave about a tiny dimesized drop sometimes. Bout it. I'd check to make sure you're not leaking.
