Default speaker fitment. (alpine type r); skunk2 coilovers

I was wondering if anyone had rigged a way for alpine type r components to fit into the doors of a 4th gen. I am thinking about cutting the springs for the trunk and installing hydraulics to open the trunk to get some in there, but i don't know if cutting the plastic speaker baffle thing and adding a small spacer would work for the door. what speakers is everyone using?

anyone using the skunk 2 pro coilover set? thinking about that or tein driving masters..

haha.....you mixed audio with suspension....guess you got away with it this time....but don't use the Alpine type-r speakers....they're 6x9 I think....get the new Type-x 6 1/2 component sets.....they'll sound awesome.....if you want to rig some place to put the 6x9s....do it in the rear deck....and steal someone's grill cover......(from a vehicle with factory 6x9 in the rear). <--then paint them to match your interior....If you can't afford the Type-x components get the type-s.....they sound damn good also..with less mess.....if you get the type-x or type-r might want to look into getting some sort of amp for those.

IF you have a 4th gen.....

In the center......the semi-hard plastic......where your shift **** is.....on the side / do some 6x9 cut outs......preferably closer to your radio.....and put them there.......that way you'll have 6 speakers and 2 tweeters.

no, I wasn't going for 6x9's. they make type r component sets. I was going to get 2 sets and mount the second set of tweeters in the back somewhere. I guess I'll have to borrow someones type r and see if I can get it to fit with a spacer. I just don't think it'll work well since when the speaker pushes out, it'll hit the door panel..

I also plan on getting hydraulics to lift my trunk so I don't have to worry about depth of rear speakers
