Default oem all motor b16

I currently have a b16a apart in my garage and was interested in building it. I've had a b16 with ctr pistons before which was nice but now I have the urged to do more with a b16. I was wondering what oem parts I can use to make even more power. I was looking into using a gsr crank and itr pistons but have also heard of ls cranks going into b16s. Do any of you experienced builders have any comments or suggestions with this. As for the top end I already have a port polish head with 3 angle valve job with skunk2 stage 2 and twm individual t-bodies. I want the block to be mostly oem so i can still drive it to work.

Thanks ahead for the suggestions.

You cannot use any b18 cranks without custom pistons. Your only choice would be to use b17 parts as they share the same block. The b18s use a taller deck on the block and in order to swap cranks you need to raise the wrist pin in the piston to compensate. I have a set of arias pistons specifically for this. It uses an LS crank and rods. I have brand new parts never used for sale let me know if you are interested. It makes a b16 1880cc's ~1.9 litre

if this is your daily driver i'd stroke the b*tch. buy ^^ this guys parts. essentially, you have an ls vtec with oil squirters and you dont have to worry about oil leaks! not only that but you would feel an incredible gain in torque (somehwere in the 15-20 ft lb area) and i think you'd be happy with it.

just my 2 cents

I would need to use custom pistons? I have heard that You can use a gsr crank and jdm itr pistons? I would like to stroke it out. Would that limit my high revving though? I would like to rev to 9 max. What if I use the b17 crank? I work at a honda dealership so I get a huge discount on parts so it doesn't matter to me.

Whoever told you that is clueless. Like I said before if you are staying oem only parts you have to use b17 parts to stroke it. gsr/itr/ls whatever will not work without custom parts this is fact not fiction. As far as revving to 9k that makes no sense to me but typically the rev ceiling goes down as the stroke gets bigger.

^^ listen to this kid. but here is the thing. do you want low end torque (which is good for daily driving) or high end hP? most ppl want both, but its hard to get the BEST of both worlds. yes, VTEC does help a lot, but if you are concered with reving safely to 9k. get teh b17 crank. if you want some torque and still be able to rev to 8k safely i'd buy runnerdown's stroker setup. just make sure to work with those ls rods a little bit (ie shotpeen and arp rod bolts). im sure a few 9k runs with that setup wouldn't kill you

question to runnerup EDIT:runnerdown
how can you use arias pistons with ls rods? semi floater rods with full floater pistons? uhhh

I have eagle rods rebushed to work with the arias floater w/smaller pin. You can use oem rods it just needs a bushing put in and have the pin clearance set. Any machine shop can do this stuff its easy and cheap.

So it is possible to use the b17 crank? While using the b17 crank what type of piston can I use with it? A little more torque is always good. As for the main bearings do I order those for the b17 as well?

Thank you so much for the info so far. It has been very helpfull.

looks like you need some manifold tuning.... that torque powerband is rediculous... but i like b16 reppin' nice work but i think you could get some more torque with tuning. i dont think those cams where the best choice for your setup either... but nice HP numbers
