Default Brake Question

Alright so i've got 15" rotas on but sense i live in NY i'll put the 14 steelies back on in the winter. My brakes are starting to go and was looking for some upgrade possibilities without going over $500. I know the rotor size cant get any bigger. so if got same size but slotted (not cross drilled because the crack easier once salt gets in it from the winters) with bigger and/or better calipers id think itd cost around $500. or i was thinking of just redoing the pads and resurfacing the rotors and attempting converting the rear drums to disc but have no clue what id be getting myself into. Any comments or suggestions would be great. Thanks

Calipers with more pistons will give better stopping distance. Also, converting to rear disc with the 40/40 prop valve and larger m/c will also help. There are many archived threads on how-to convert to rear disc. It really isn't that hard. Actually, I just wrote a short, straight to the point on it last night. Good luck.
