Default got a honda again...05 ep3

yep, got an Si today...absolutely love it. It's my first manual...yes I'm 30. It'll be a good daily. Vtec by day and turbo 6 by night. See sig. This is one car I really like stock. I'm thinking about trying out the stock SCCA auto x classes next season with the car...then I can decide on mods. I could care less about straightline performance in this car...that's what the G body is for. LOL. This chassis feels so solid in curves. Are these cars equipped with an LSD? I didn't think they were. Someone at the dealer said he thought they were and told him I thought that was tied to the K20 in the RSX type s.

No USDM K motor Honda comes with an LSD. The first I'm aware of to come with an LSD OEM Tosen axle is the upcoming 2006 model Civic Si.

If you are autocrossing and want the Torsen axle, there are options available to you.

You can keep your eyes open for an eBay sale of an OEM Honda Torsen axle from a K motor car, in which case you will pay only a few hundred dollars. The Quaife unit is a similar Torsen design, perhaps a little heavier duty, and is available from several prominent Honda Tech resellers for under $900, sometimes down around $825.

But if you can find the OEM Torsen axle online, you will only pay a few hundred.

awesome info! thanks! Like I told the guy...I was pretty darn sure it didn't have a LSD. I love the car regardless. You know...I may be rice...but the seats in this car are awesome. Firm enough to hold you yet confortable.
High $17s...I traded in a truck and I was after the bottom line working out...so it was somewhere arounf\d there. The dealer had the car since april...:wow.

The EP3 is one of the least popular Hondas in history.

I bought mine in December 2002. The dealer had the car in inventory for just about the whole year and had only put 37 miles on it the whole time.

Two friends and I bought three of them total, for $15995 each. It seemed like a very nice buy at that price. All three of us have kept them as our daily driver/commuter cars and we've never had an opportunity to regret the purchase.

It's a very ugly car, but drives nicely and has a very nice set of features for the discounted purchase price.

The other British designed hatch that Honda tried in USDM, the '92-'95 EG, was also very unpopular when it first came out. It's now, of course, one of the most sought after Honda cars, and I have the feeling the same thing will happen to the EP.

so you paid around 17K out the door?........cuz all the dealers i asked in S. Calif area, they dont bug for the 17K....they want at least 18K OTD for all 05 Si, cuz they said if 17K OTD is under their cost, they wont sell it.........

by the way, how you work with the sales (like how you get them down the $) ? fleet manager or internet manager?

any help would really appreciated.....tks

The biggest help you can be to your negotiations is to have the money straight ahead of time, either knowing you have the bank or credit union straight or that you have the money in the bank.

Then it becomes a matter of just finding two or three dealers with the same car, letting them know you're ready to buy and letting them know that you're buying the cheapest one.

As the EP3 gets closer to running out of the current production run, however, the prices are coming down less. It's looking like the 2005 run is actually a little more popular than expected. It's the same old story. Nobody like something until they can't have it anymore.

what George said :D.

I've bought 5 or 6 cars from this dealer also. Good return business helps. We also bought two cars the same day...that helped. The wife got a 05 accord LX manual for 18300.
