bout to buy a crx wanna kno if project will work
im about to buy a 89 crx si the other day and i was looking at the engine and it looked the same size as my friends STi so we pulled the cars side by side and the engines look around the same size and i was wandering if i could put an STi engine in the crx i can get a STi engine for $2000 it got wrecked in the rear and its at a wreck yard or w/e u wanna call it. but i wanna kno b4 i start buying stuff. and if i can what all would i have to do.like change it from 5 speed to 6 speed. and change the axels n what not. thanks for tha help. i hope i can do this
Use that $2000 and get a Honda motor that will fit with less headaches. It's gonna cost you at least another $2500 to get everything fitted right if you used the STi motor. But, if money isn't an issue, go for it and show us the pics after you are done.
.... how bout...no... sti is AWD . this project would cost u about $10000 to instl everything

as redline said if you have the cash... go for it. but if not, why even waste time asking

so the price would be around 10,000. i could get that cash from my dad cuz my parents are divorced and i only see him like once or twice a year and im gonna see him around august hopefully and he is super ****** rich and he gives me anything for that weekend. i could tell him about the project i wanna start and he would be like cool cuz hes a car freak do likes to do engine swaps n just all kinds of stuff and he would prolly do it. so im pretty lucky or i might do an evo engine and buy a FWD tranny. and oh yea CH3MIK the STi is AWD not RWD.

oh yea what do yall think i would have to switch out like axels n transmission and what not. thanks for tha help guys i am decent at modding im not proffesional. and alot of this will probably be done in my garage
You can get a B-series honda motor for 2-3grand and then turbo charge that motor and make more the then a stock STI motor would. You would be wasting money to go with a STI motor. It doesn't make sense.........

this is a stupid idea. first off all you gona need the complete drive train from an sti wireing everything. then i hope your a good welder cause your gonnna have to custom make everthing to mount that motor in there and be safe too. not to mention redoing the whole rear end too for awd. this sounds like it would be on monster garage.

mex69, if your dad has so much money, then have him BUY you a STI...
And dont be such a spoiled biatch, he (probably) earned the money he has, and doesnt need to waste it on a farfetched dream. If youre going to get a honda car, stick a honda engine in it and work with that.

This is one of the most stupid threads I have ever seen, No the ej25(I think thats what it is)will not fit easily and would be a stupid waste of money, You could easily buy a b series engine and turbo it for $10,000 but If your rich Daddy will give you $10,000 for a weekend just ask him to buy your spoiled *** an Sti instead

Retard, seriously man, just because the engines are the same size and it looks like it might fit doesnt mean anything.
Every ricer dreams of putting a high power non-honda power plant into their honda, but the real racers know that acura/honda motors go into hondas, and not big blocks (though it has been done, my someone much more qualified than you)
Its like garbage in garbage can, makes sence right ? Well so does honda/acura into honda.
Keep dreaming, or just have your daddy buy you an STi you spoiled bitch.

What about always having to refill the bottle? I prefer turbo over nitrous for the fact its always right there, you dont need to make sure your bottle has enough juice, you dont need to heat the turbo, you dont have to purge the turbo, you dont have to activate the turbo. It may be cheaper to go nitrous, but thats the easy way out IMO. It might also give you power, but I think a turbo means more than slapping on a nitrous kit. If youre looking for cheap power, look for nitrous. If you want power all the time and want to spend a bit more money on something concrete, get a turbo. Plus you dont have a cool looking engine bay and an intercooler with nitrous
