Default Has anyone bought an engine swap from jspecautosports.com

as the title says , i was thinkin about a b16a swap in next 3-4 months into my eg but i wanted the a/c with it too so i searched google and found this website http://WWW.JSPECAUTOSPORTS.COM, they offer SiR-II complete swap for 2650 plus 260 shipping to Tn, but the swap encludes a/c compressor and drive shafts and all that good stuf here's the list :
List Of Parts Included
• Complete Motor
- Block
- Intake Manifold
- Complete Head
- Sensors
- Exhaust Manifold
- Fuel Rail
- Injectors
- Distributor
- Throttle Body
- Alternator
- Starter
- Ignition Wires
- A/C Compressor
- Power Steering Pump
- Headers

• OBD1 ECU (Computer)

• 5-Speed FWD Hydraulic Transmission
- With Clutch components assembled to the engine

• Intermediate shaft

• Engine Mounts

• YONAKA MOTORSPORTS Drive Shafts

* Wiring harnesses from Japan made(JDM) Honda engines cannot be used in US made Honda's since they are made for right hand drive cars. You must use your current wiring harness.

* The TPS(Throttle Position Sensor) sensor an JDM Honda motors is sometimes cracked or broken, but it really is not a problem, you will simply use the one from your existing engine since it is the same.

---that's the all u get for 2650 so what i was wondering was if any one of u bought engine swaps from these guys and if they sell good stuff, and also if i get this stuff will i need anything else for the a/c or just the stuff they listed. -hit me up with some ideas, comments i'm trying to decide whether to get it from hmotors or these guys..

most people on here will tell you steve and HMO is the way to go.
i have been using him for the last 3.5 years and never had an issue.

i think 2650 is a little high considering all you need to do buy a 90 bracket to keep your ac compressor, but thats just me, look at this: this is from steves page. http://www.hmotorsonline.com

steves swaps are complete as well and i think he has a better reputation on here. reust me, with the ac bracket you get from the dealer, you dont even need to discharge it to swap it over. this is a 400$ difference, and steves swaps have the axles mounts and half shaft.

as long as you have an eg or ek, the mounts he sells will work. if you have an ef, you will need hasport or comprabale mounts. this is oyur call but i dont think it is worth 400$ to get an ac compressor plus i have never heard of the place you are asking about. not to say that they arent bad, i havent heard of them. oh and o dont see shift linkage on your list from that place. steve has them too.

i like them telling you you can use the tps off of your old engine. steve gaurentees that his arent broken.

if you want my honest oppinion, i think thats too high, and not worth it.

speaking from experience, my old shop SC Tuning, i got 13 engines from him. and my current shop, CarV2 have gotten another 8 from him.

Frankly, I'd only go with HMO. A motor is a HUGE thing to buy, and that's something that you want to be in good condition. HMO provides nothing buy superb engines.

YOu won't be able to use the AC compressor, the TPS might not be interchangable, and you will need to modify your wiring harness to make it work. 2650 is more than a little high. Hell for another 800 bucks you gcould get a full CTR swap from Rcrewracing.com. I'd just go wtih Hmotors if I were you...seems to be the prefered place to shop on this site. If you want to drop the cash on a R motor or K series swap then go to Rcrew.

i am assuming you are doin a civic, the ac compressor will not for the bracket that fits the block, but all you need is a bracket from the dealer, to make your compressor for the block you get.

if you were to get a swap that didnt come with an ac compressor, the bracket that will come with the block will not allow you to bolt up your compressor that is in your car. the bracket off of a del sol vtec will allow you to use your ac compressor, not have to discharge it and spend the extra 400 on the swap from jspecautosports.
