Default RPM SIGNAL WIRE OR ECU PIN? **SEARCHED**

ok guys, PLEASE don't flame, I have searched the archived content.

I found this thread:

and have tried to hook into that wire for my rpm signal on my greddy profec e-01 boost controller. No dice. I don't have a voltmeter accessible, but I'm confident I had a good connection, I've also tried pin A21 on the ecu (obd1) and no dice. I've got all my other guages etc working on the thing (like tps, a/f, vss, etc) via the optional input harness.

Any other ideas?

A21 isn't the right end of the ignition pulse. it's actually the signal for the ignitor to pulse not the ignitor output signal but it should be really really close.

you want the blue wire from the distributor. If you have the stock engine in there it should be also at the tach wire as posted in the other thread.
If you have a swap go directly to the distributor or behind the cluster. (if your tach works of course)

ok, I tried the blue one behind the cluster, and the blue one going directly to the dizzy, still no dice, I think I'm going to need a volt meter, I might have a bad unit. I also double checked my grounds.......everything is working except the e/g rev......wtf

what did you use to splice into the blue wire? its a solid blue one.

I used splice clips, I made sure the splices got through the jackets, I know it's solid blue, I don't think I had the wrong wire......... I need it to work otherwise my rpm offset feature won't work.

solved, I switched the profec controller to 3 cylinders and got a signal? switched it back to 4 and it worked fine....
