The d16 already has a very long stroke (90mm) and a small bore (75mm) stroking it doesn't really make much sense--it will be like a tractor motor!! If you want more displacement your best bet is to have it sleeved to 78mm or 79mm--you will have almost a 1.8. I think one company (a real bad company) had a 94mm stroker--or you could try to fit a d17 crank (94mm) but you will have to modify the crank a bit. Bad idea all around. I suppose it isn't a terrible idea and you are going for a max displacement d--you could sleeve it and stoke it--have 1.9 possibly 2.0 if you could get the bore to 81-82mm!!

Stock bore and stroke according to Helms is 74 mm and 89 mm respectively.
If you look at the VTEC B-series engines, they have 81 mm bores and a stroke that is less then 89 mm. In turn, those engines have a noticably higher redline and respond better to modifications.

I agree with d16dcoe45, if you are dying for more displacement, get your block sleeved and bored out to 78 - 79 mm's. You'll be sitting just under 1800 cc's if you do so.

If you still insist upon going with a stroker block though, R & D Dyno offers stroker setups for the D-series.

When I said "a real bad company" referring to who made stroker kits for d series motors I wasn't referring to R&D Dyno--I was referring to a company that I can't remember the name of--everybody had problems with this guy. I think Bisi used a 2.0 liter D-series to run the 10.70-10.90(from R&D dyno) before he retired it to go F-series.

I am inclined to believe that Bisi has had ties with R&D Dyno in the past. Don't know if he still does anymore.
