Metal on metal noise
I had my exhaust fixed(mine was rusted thru) about a week ago. Anyways what we did was cut off part of my midpipe, and then attach a new part that was cut off from another midpipe, now my car is making a metal on metal noise between 3200 and 3300 rpm ,and then an even louder one from 3500 to 3800 rpm. All other rpms it doesn't make a noise.
Now I'm thinking its the clamps that are making that noise from vibratoin with the midpipe...anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?
I was thinking of wrapping the exhaust with some rags and then using the clamps that way maybe the rag will dissipiate the vibration but I dunno if that can cause a fire or something, anyone have any suggestions?
oh yeah forgot to add when I was reassembling the midpipe/muffler I didn't use a spring on one of the bolts, ended up not using the oem bolts/nuts because they were broken in .
