Well I was just given this 1989 Honda Civic DX. It only has 106,000 miles on it and runs great. I need some help though. It needs a new clutch, which I have no idea the level of difficulty of anyone know? Second judging by the pictures does anyone know what motor this is? I assume its a D15 unknown if a 1.6 or 1.5 cant find it anywhere unlike my 95 Civic. The locks seem to be messed up to say the least. In the pic is the drivers side. All but the Passenger front are like this. Any ideas on whats needed to replace them? Or how to do it. Finnaly who sells the best stereo install kit for this car. The stereo in it is jerry rigged and not sure whats all needed, and what are some of your ideas for speakers?. Im going to pick up a manual soon just wanted some expert opinions. Overall its in decent shape needs a lil TLC. My plan is to sell my 95 for cheap since it needs a few things and in a year give this car away to someone who needs it. Any ideas, tips, or cool ideas on what to do would be great!!

Nice on the eyes

Yes I know im very fortunate. This is the first real good thing I can say has happned in a long time. Figured as much about the clutch lol. Guess I will look harder for the code. Anyone who views this I would like to hear what you have to say about what I should do. Make this the honda-tech.com car lol.
the engine in there is a D15B2. you can tell because it has the DPFI manifold. so its a 1.5L.
good deal on the car tho, i wish someone would give me a car like that for nothing

If you know nothing about putting a clutch dont even try it. You might *** up the axles or the balljoints when trying to achieve this.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Don't listen to this person. It's not that hard. Just make sure you put the clutch in the same exact way you took it out. I've never replaced a clutch let alone a motor swap and it's coming along fine. Just remember to take your time.

Not everybody is engine literate or very knowledgeable. You need to remember that sometimes the lower control arms can take while to take out and this for a new person could be a bitch. Causing damage to the lower ball joint booth to rip, something like that coud happen.

haha I love when someone on the forum picks up a decent looking ef for cheap or free and everyone replies with "NICE FIND! YOU'RE LUCKY! " when the average person would think the car is a pos.
