Default Manual tranny is loud...

Somone told me to put gear oil in it insted of regular oil... Will that help take noise away?

What is the capacity of that pan anyway?

Use NOTHING but HONDA manual transmission fluid / oil. Get it from the dealership. It holds two (2) quarts.

go and use manual tranny fluid from any auto store. its usually 85-95w, maybe your using a lesser weight oil and thats why its making sounds. it all matters on the weight you put.

you are not supposed to put gear oil in your car and if you want something beside freaking tranny oil from honda put in 10w-30 motor oil . that is what honda told me to use if i had no other choice but theirs but i would stay with honda's stuff

Do the quarts really matter? don't you just filled it up until it runs out of the fill plug? btw: I've used 10w-30 castrol gtx in my Tranny in my rex si for about 50k mi. now and it's just as strong and clean and good as it was when I bought it!

I'm glad I read this post it reminds me.. I need to change my tranny fluid!

I've never measured the fluid. I only check how much fluid it takes so I know how much to buy.

You guys got me so worked up on this that i'm actually reading books and ****!

MTF Capacities:
EW's - 2.4 qts
ED's - 1.9 qts (4WD - 2.4)
D series - 1.9 qts
B16, B20 - 1.9 qts
B18 (all) - 2.3 qts
CRV Rear diff - 1.1 qts (in case anyone got brave and made a hybrid AWD civic)

It does say that you are simply supposed to fill until it flows out of the fill hole though, so just fill that **** up!
