Default RSR-EX mag exhaust

Sup all,

I think i might be finally able to afford a Intake, Header and Exhaust. I like how the RSR looks and from what I have read it is not crazy loud. I wanna be able to get back into to my place at 4 am without wakeing everyone. Can you guy tell me what would be best with that exhaust (intake and header). I want to be able to drive it everyday and still get decent gas mileage. By the way is 24 mpg good for a 1994 integra gsr. I am not sure about the header if i should get a 4-1 or 4-2-1. what brand is good with a RSR exhaust. The intake I was thinking about a AEM but that is kinda pricey. Is there anything that is just as good for cheaper? I haven't been keeping up with all the new stuff out lately. Is the RSR good, from what i remember it was a good exhaust.

thanks for everything. if there is something i left out let me know.

thanks

thai

I have a rsr exhuast and its perfectly quiet unless you rev it up high but even still its quiet.....

4-1 gives better high end but 4-2-1 gives more of a mid range power.....select your choice. ask yourself if your into shifting low rpm or high rpm......but the choice of picking a brand is all on you....I suggest getting the normal dc headers..best bang for the buck

If you want cheap intake...get a cheap arm off ebay and buy yourself a k&n filter...

you can also wrap the ebay arm, or spray it with ceramic or paint that insulates, keeping intake temps warmer. wont look as pretty, but almost as good, and cehap

I believe the point of insulating an intake pipe is to insulate it from the engine and exhaust heat, to keep intake temps cooler, not warmer. That's why people get cold air intakes.

I would go with the RS*R ex mag for sure... that is what I have and I would have regretted getting anything else. As for headers... I have DC 4-2-1 ceramic coated... they are pretty decent, but if I had to do it over, I would get a different brand in SS. Intake is up to you. I have tried many over the years and the current setup is DIY similar to the one on bretq's page. It is my favorite setup. I wouldn't go with AEM. 24 mpg city or hwy? or mix? I get 33-34 mpg in the LS if I am doing all hwy driving between 65-80 mph.

i got rs-r magnum and its quiet. i think a also lost hp with it. either that or its my magnaflow replacement resonator.

also have dc 4-1 and a custom 2.75 pipe.

its okay. i would keep the stock headers. more durable and thicker.

The only downfall of the RSR EX-MAG is that you lose high end because of the restriction on the axleback. Go with a resonated 2.25" mandrel bent SS N1 setup...cheaper and just about as quiet with less restriction.

less restriction, but an n1 is definately louder. there was some1 that said they dynod their rsr, and it made the same hp as open cat. i know its only one case, but that doesnt seem too restrictive...

RS*R

My personal experience with intake is... it's all the same ****, unless you get a cold air of course.
