Default CEL at High RPMs, then goes away after recycle the ignition

I've been noticing a CEL when i punch it in 3rd gear and it hits like 7000+ rpm or so. It stays on until I recycle the ignition, then it goes away. THe car seems to work find and stuff but something must be wrong for the CEL to come up.

Ive tried searching, a few people had the same problem, but no clear answer.

Motor = B18c JDM GSR
Car = 95 DX Hatch
Mods = Exhaust..

Is it storing or deleting the CEL after you do the ignition thing?

I've got the same problem with my D16. Is your ecu chipped at all?

Car runs fine, but throws a CEL. Can't read the CEL b/c the ECU is not storing it.

I did have the ECU chipped, i forgot about that.

Did you do it yourself or have someone else do it? I've run w/ stock ECU for over a year w/ no CEL.

Once I chipped it for uber it kept going into limp mode. Realized I had bent one of the prongs on my low-pro zif. Straightened it out and put it back in the ECU, car ran fine.

Now I get this CEL that won't go away. I've got my wideband wired into the ignition and ground on the ECU. Car is bone stock.

Does it do it every time you drive the car or like every 2 or 3 times? Mine is random. Sometimes It'll come on 2 or 3 times straight, sometimes I can go 2 or 3 times without a CEL.

Hopefully someone with the same problem can chime in.

Someone else chipped it. It only comes on whenever i get nasty with it and redline it. Daily driving around town and cruising nothing happens.

Try pulling the CEL code. Then work from there. My boys car does it and he's getting a O2 sensor error (old o2 sensor) and a Traction Control Error (damb JDM ecus)

Mine does the same thing, with JDM b18c in vx hatch, It only does it when i drive it hard. Not everytime but mostly. When it goes on, I just turn the car off while driving and start it up. haha
