check the belt for vibration. also could be the bearing, is it a whistling or a squealing kinda noise? maybe the a/c clutch is bad in the compressor. also check your fan inside the cabin.

Compressor is on it's way out. Bad bearings in there. Probably caused by lack of oil (means you had/have a leak somewhere and whoever had the motor before you just kept topping it off with gas but no oil). Now your bearings in the compressor are shot.
I bought an AC compressor a while back ago for $50, they go for like $300 I believe... but yea, if you find one for cheap and have someone charge it up, it won't be too bad to your pocket. Just use what you got till its shot. (=

I have a similar (if not same) problem with my pre-certified '02 Accord V6 -- i took it to honda complaining that i hear a faint gurgling noise when my AC is on, but i was told that all hondas have this problem when the A/C compressor swings into action. It was hard to believe that all hondas have this problem!! Pls. advice... is my unit bad as well?

If it's coming from the right side of the dash when the a/c cycles, it's normal.

It could also be the bearings inside the tensioner pulley. Move the belt off both the pulley and compressor and then try spinning them by hand and see if they rotate freely. BTW, you'll have to remove the powersteering pump to do this which is quite easy and gives you the room you need. Good luck

It could be low on charge or your compressor clutch is slipping. I'd lean towards the later of the two.
