Default B18B a direct drop into an EG? (confused)

Hey guys. I've read several articles saying that the B18B will drop right into an EG without needing any special mounts. I have also read that a driver side mount and rear mount is needed for the swap. I'm just kind of confused right now.

So what they are saying is Integra and civic mounts are exactly the same right?

No the rear bracket, drivers side mount, and the front trannt bracket must be from a 94+ Integra for the swap. The only identical mounts are the top tranny mount, and the rear mount. Hope this helped.

Thanks man, that clears things up!

Well that really sucks, so that means anyone w/ a b series swap has to either buy real aftermarket mounts or buy 2 seperate bushing kits- one for eg and one for a teg?

Not if you retain the EG lower torque and rear mounts as in the diagram...

Oh okay, cool I get it now. Thanks guys. How about the timing belt mount, does the bushing off an EG kit fit through the 3g integra timing belt mount?

There is really no point in that I dont think...

If your get the b18b1 directly out of an integra and take all the mounts with it, it will drop right in, your wiring harness will clip in to all necessary location, and your done... Simple and straight forward. I had one in my del sol, was way easier to install than I thought it would be (was my first swap).

you can find people online with these bushings/brackets. Just go to the local salvage yard and get the stuff you need. I did my b18b swap over the winter, its a cake walk!!!

how would it be a direct replacement.. when did they put a b series into a 92-95 civic... they didnt only the del sol and jdm eg civic so no it wont just drop in.... either find somebody who knows how to fabricate or buy a motor mount kit.... that kid put one directly into a del sol because the del sol was set up for the b16... 92-95 civics are not.....

Just use the mounts and harness from the Integra! The only thing that doesn't fit is the throttle cable. You will need to make a custom bracket or get the Integra throttle cable also because the Civic cable is a little shorter. Other than that the B-series motors will drop right into the civic chasis with no major mods. Hope this clears your confusion.

Sorry bro, I have a 93 EJ here. Dropped a JDM B16A in there and all I bought mount wise was a OE 94' DelSol VTEC rear mount. No custom mounts or anything...
Not one problem with it. My LS/VTEC will bolt in the same..

i have to disagree partially... all i needed for my cx was a rear mount from an integra (or would be the same as the del sol DOHC VTEC rear mount since it is quite similar to the other 92-95 and came stock with a b16. either will work) , and dont forget the front mount that bolts to the chassis. i didnt have them for a while, and it sucked... motor jumped around like crazy....

so you will need a rear mount, and the two front mounts and possibly brackets. good luck!

Totally wrong.. haha.. It bolts right in.. the del sol, integra, and eg/ej/eh civics share the same engine bay.. lol

Now the engine did come with the B-series AC bracket/mount. This part is different between the series so it would need to be purchased if the engine doesn't come with it. My engine also came with the front trans mount and side mounts as well. IMO these are parts that should come with the swap. Make sure all of these details are negotiated before the transfer of funds goes down.

I personally was able to use my stock throttle cable. The mounting bracket on the intake manifold is closer to the drivers side on the B-series compared to the D. I just bought the 94' DelSol VTEC (DOHC) bracket and used the right hole in that to go in the left hole on the IM (when looking from the fonr of the car). Hope you catch my drift. Only one bolt is in there the other is hangin off but it worked. Plus the bracket is much cheaper than the hole cable itself. The Honda part number on this bracket is 16411-P30-000, this part is $5.81 @ http://www.hondapartsdeals.com or you could pick up the throttle cable for about $15-$20. Anyone know if it makes a difference what 3rd gen teg model you get the throttle cable from? I could post part numbers if anyone knows for sure..

The motor mount insert kits only come with poly pieces for the lower torque and rear mounts. If you want poly upper mounts you'll need to source them from a company like Hasport.

BTW: This has got to be one of the most inaccurate and misinformative threads i have ever read on here. Just follow the diagram and you will be fine. If you have any other questions feel free to hit me up on PM.

Screw a diagram, that can be just as confusing as these peoples lies.. Just get a b18b1 with all integra mounts and you will be set. If the mounts for an integra were hard to come by I would understand my advice being pointless.. BUT you can get these mounts a dime a dozen, so why not just do it the easy way...

Mounts for the swap:
-Integra Driver Side Top Mount
-Civic or Integra Passenger Side Top (tranny) Mount
-Integra Rear Mount (only the L bracket, not the actual bracket bolted to the chassis..)
-A/C Bracket Mount (from a del sol vtec or CRV to retain A/C, integra if A/C is not needed) (don't need the chassis side mount here either)
-Integra Front Tranny Mount (don't need the chassis side mount here either)

Other Things:
-Matching P75 ECU for engine, OBD1
-B-Series Shift Linkage
-LS or Z6 OBD1 engine Wiring harness (Both of these will work on an LS, others may, but I don't have any experience with others so...)

Simple as that.......

hehe, cool I get it now. I was always under the impression that the poly. inserts replaced the pieces in all of the mounts.

Hey, just to finish this thread off for good- Anyone have integra mounts for sale for a cheap price?
