theft prevention...
i live in north denver ... jefferson county. a report was released the other day saying 3 accords have been stolen daily for the past 1 1/2 months ... i need to protect my baby.
I've already got an alarm that disables the ignition if it's set off until you "alarm off" it with the keypad, but i assume you can work around that with a pop of the hood and a little "snip snip" of the alarm system.
what prevention tips can i take? is the CLUB a waste? are hood locks any good? ANY other ideas? i would lose it if someone stole my girl after i've put uncountable hours of work into her and personally driven her for over 150K miles!

yep, Captain Obvious says:
to provide "layers" of protection
that tire boot is a good visual that says you're serious about keeping your vehicle, unless they tow it away.
the simple club can be easily defeated, but if you add the "shield" so they can't cut the hollow steering wheel easily & put on the autolock on the brake pedal... a simple thug may just shrug it off to find an easier target... all about making the theif "work" to get your car.
i'm guessing that the alarm has an ignition cutoff? so add a layer & put another independent fuel pump cutoff switch where only u know where it is...

Relocating hood cable. This basically entails running the latch wiring from your fender to inside your engine bay.
Independent fuel pump cutoff switch.
There is a club that goes on your brake pedal that works pretty well.
Garage it (obviously very simple yet very effective).
Full coverage or at least comprehensive coverage.
It comes down to layering your level of protection but the bottom line is if the theives want it...they will get it.

A kill switch is an excellent way to add a little extra security for not alot of money. You can do these in all sorts of spots as well. Put one on your fuel pump, starter wire, or any where else you can think of.
Good luck hope your car doesn't get stolen
Here is a thread with alot of good info about kill switches.

Just so you know that isn't a very reliable way to prevent theft...if a theif is smart enough he will carry a spare ecu.
