Help with 16" pick for '91 Accord
OK, this will be a daily driver and I don't do any tracking. I want an all-season tire. This tire will for the most part be driven between NC, but I do drive further north on the east coast, so may come in contact with some snow. I got 16x7 rims and just need the tires.
My priorities are as follows:
1. Handling
2. Price
3. Noise
4. Wear
I am looking at a 205/50/16 tire, here are my choices:
Fuzion HR1
Falken Ziex ZE-512
Falken GR Beta FK-457
Kumho Ecsta ASX
Kumho Ecsta Supra 712
Pirelli P-Nero M&S
Nitto NT Neo Gen VR
Also are there any benefits with using the 205/55/16? Or will I just have rubbing and such.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the suggestion on the upgrade of car, but that is what I have.
Any other suggestion on the tires. I hear that the Falkens are kinda noisy. Also, will I have any issues is I go with the 205/55//16 instead of the 50s.
Again, this is not a race car, nor am I spirited on the highway.

I have a 96 coupe with 205/55/16 Falken Ziex 512.
I won't by another tire for my 16" wheels. For the price, they have a great wear life, handle fine for spirited daily driving (V-rated), and are great in rain and light snow. The 205/55 is the closest size match to my stock wheel/tire size. Not sure for a 91. They don't have too large or to thin of a profile.
I like them!

I used a tire calculator, and I found that the OE tire diameter for a 185/70/14 is 24.2
The tire size for the 205/50/16 is 24.07 and the size for the 205/55/16 is 24.88. What does that difference mean? Is the 24.88 too much?
Thanks again.

those number represent the diameer across the wheel and tire. the lower the number from stock the faster the revolutions are on the wheel. the higher the number from stock the slower the revs. to much difference will throw off the speedometer from what your stock wheels are designed for. i have 205/50/16 kumbo ecsta on mine and won't change to anything else.

the diference on both of them is so minimal u prob wont notice a change in speedo accuracy..the lower the diameter the better acceleration you'll have...higher diameter better top speed and gas mileage...
