Default help how to have better fuel economy? d16a vtec

Hi guys,

My engine D16A, auto transmission (vtec sohc) consume lots of petrol...full tank only drive for 250km urban driving. and i dont drive hard. No mod on the car, no straight pipe, no open port, no noisy muffler, header also stock.

If there anything wrong with the engine or what should i check or parts to change in order to get a better mileage?

btw, i got Vafc on it, any recommendation how to tune for more fuel economy??

Thanks in advance!

Your not going to get any gas mileage outta the vafc unless you hook it up to a wideband and run the motor really lean..

Maybe it's time for a tune up, replace: plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, dist cap, rotor button,etc..

and besides, headers, high flow exhaust, air filter, etc, etc, actually make the engine more effiecient, increasing gas mileage!

i thought headers, high flow exhaust, open port air filter will increase fuel consumption?

Btw, i live in singapore, its like summer every day here, is it wise to use open port in take? Sucking all the hot air, if drop in also suck in hot air as well...?
