Who Has Installed HID's On Their Stock Harness?

I just installed a plug 'n' play HID kit and it connected directly to the stock harness, some say I need the relay kit, some say I don't....so far I haven't had any problmes with them, they come on and etc. what are your opinions?

relay would be good insurance

Would I be able to use a foglight harness? I heard some people using it as well.
