sneeky way to fill up transmission
ok, i have a stock 90 crx Si. D16A6 and it doesn't seem like theres a real sneaky way to fill it up with fluid.. it seems like the only two things on top of the tranny are the drain hose, and this other black thing that doesn't come out or move(that must be the VSS...) but mine looks different than every other pic i've seen on here....
so can i fill the whole thing using the drain hose, and just use the hose as a fill hose?? or what else could i do..
also: what would be the best way to flush it out, and what should i use to do that?

All I did was drain it through the drain plug and then fill it back up. I got some small gauge plastic tubing and a small funnel that would fit in plastic tubing. It works really well.
Transmissions that uses a cable for the speedometer:

Transmissions that use a VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor):

Remove the gear in the upper right corner of the diagram, and fill the fluid into the opening that you have just revealed.

On the pass side of the tranny, up above/around the Cv input, there is a 17mm bolt..undo that, and you'll have your fill up. Autozone sells these blue funnels with hoses on them already for like $2.00, I use it all the time!!!
Its not difficult at all doing it the correct way. Just need a long enough funnel that snakes a bit. Never done it any other way.
yeah, whats the big deal doing it the right way just take out the fill plug and buy a cheap funnel and clamp some clear hose on it and stick it in the fill hole

Because it drips out the side, making a mess on the floor/ground.

I actually used to fill mine up from the breather whole on top of the tranny. Usually its covered with a rubber boot. This was on my b16 tranny though I don't know if a a6 tranny has one. I don't do that anymore though.

exactly I guess you could just put the amount of fluid that is needed but I prefer to see it spill out
