clutch fluid issues
alright on a 94 accord ex i have replaced my clutch master and slave and still it will not hold pressure... have bled the system multiple times and still nothing.... I traced the lines and none look like they are leaking.... i found something that is wet (clutch dampener assembly) but i called honda and talked to a tech who has been there for 15 years and says he has NEVER replaced one? anyone have any ideas.... None of the parts i replaced appear to be deffective....

Did you get all the air bled out? It can be difficult.

I am almost positive i have gotten all the air out i have bled it a couple times and driven on it as well... would it be smart to bleed it a few more times before i throw more parts at it?
do not give up keep blleding for a while sometimes those are a bitch ,,, be patient and make sure there are no leaks anywhere else
i'll try and bleed it a couple more times... Is there some way to add dye to the fluid like with ac systems and coolant and stuff or is there some sort of pressure test i can do? any other possibilities that will help me find exactly where my leak is if i have one?
i have sprayed it all down with a hose and then used a compressed air blower to dry it then had a buddy pump the clutch pedal while i looked for seeping fluid..... did this through one full canister of fluid.... and saw nothihng except near that dampener assembly

was it leaking around the dampner?
was it leaking around the dampner?
it appears that it is but i'm not 100% certain... it is wet on and around the dampener.... so as far as i can tell yes but it may be from other things... i'm gonna bring it in to the shop... degrease the whole motor top and bottom and then drive it for a day and see for sure if it is...
Two ideas for you to try...
Reverse-bleed the clutch. Find some kind of syringe or something, with a hose to fit the clutch slave bleed valve. Pump fluid INTO the slave bleeder. That way you're pushing the air bubbles 'uphill' so it's easier for them to work their way out. Watch for the reservoir overflowing.
Conventional pumping. On MY cars, when you bleed the clutch, the pedal doesn't spring back up from the floor. Is it the same on yours? Loop a string around the pedal to pull it back up. The difference is... DON'T let the pedal snap up, use the string & your foot to raise the pedal more slowly. I've found if you let the pedal snap up really fast, it can sometimes pull air in thru the MC shaft seal.

so you say the dampeners are prone to leaking and another tech tells me he has never replaced one.... hrmm is that a dealership only part or can i find it at my local parts store
hmm...i think i have the same prob. as you...well kinda. ive bled the system for a while now & still no progress. Everything else seems fine, no leaks or anything. i dunno whats wrong... hmm
ill jump into this thread....my pedal is dead and its leaking fluid from around the bell housing (haven gotten under the car yet....waiting for my buddy to come over to bleed it)
is it normal for either slave or master cylinders to just fail all at once, or is it more of a gradual thing (slow leaking, rather than overnight, like my car)
EDIT: can someone quickly answer this...is the "clutch release cylinder" the same thing as the slave cylinder....i hate my haynes manual....no diagrams at all

found my problem....
as soon as you pull the boot open on the slave cylinder, fluid poors out....
so im gettting a new slave cylinder, and per the advice of chivo, probably a new master as well
