Should I buy it?
Went to look at a 91 civic DX hatch "shell" yesterday. it has a JDM ZC motor and transmition with no US miles, so it has "less then 45K" if that statement is accurate. the interior is all dissassembled and much of it is missing, but it does have AC, which is a plus for me now since the plan is for daily driver duty as well as track. (Road course)
Its got some ricer tail lights and rear bumper and missing the front bumper beam, but has the cover, though not attatched. The paint is blue, but very worn, and in places it looks like someone was preping for paint already. its droped on adjustable coil perches with stock shocks (why?) No rust.
It will need seats, ignition and door locks (He doesnt have the keys) some misc interior body panels, Si gauge cluster (is that an easy swap) stock rear bumper (I'd like to find a blue one from a body colored car (Si?) ECU, and a couple other things immediatly to run and drive. It sat for a year.
I went out looking for a reliable daily driver/track civic hatch so that the porsche can have as much jackstand time as it needs, and I think I'm just going to put myself into another jackstand *****.... I offered 550, its been sitting un touched for a year.
If I do pick it up, I'm going to throw up a WTB thread for all the stuff I need, unless one of you has a cheap parts car in SoCal.

because the shell the motor is in on this one is dissassembled interior, the paint is not something I want to be seen in and has some mods (though easily reversable) i dont want on it. the body is straight, thats about it. if i can find a clean cheap no motor shell to just transfer the ZC into, it might be better.

Don't buy it. If you're looking for a daily, just find a DX /w AC that is running. All the parts you're going to need to buy will be more than finding a runner. Just a thought.
If you do not end purchasing this vehicle, I might do so in your place. Please let me know if your plans change.
IMO, you should jump on this shell and motor, you might not have a better opportunity (clean body and lightly used JDM motor
) come your way for a long time.

Shawn,
I would need it cheap... what year, is it dx, si etc... I mean I wouldn't want to pay more for a no motor shell then the shell i would buy with the zc motor and tranny. Can I have some info on it? I would PM you, but I can't, I'm still trial user.
