Dude, Where's my gas?
The manual says the full capacity is 10 gallons. I'm not sure if there is a light that comes on at E but I let the needle touch the E. Went to fill up the gas tank and was only able to fill up 6 gallons which came to 13 bucks. Eek! So I'm just wondering where the 4 other gallons have gone to?
And yeah, bouncing gas needle is annoying and misinforming.

Mine does similar things too. Any idea on this?

There is a reserve. When your needle touches E, your not really empty. This prevents people that want to make it to the next town before getting gas from running out.

Wouldn't the reserve be more close to 1 gallon, 2 at the most?

Mabe you're getting a bad reading. I know that the fuel guage needles aren't all that accurate.

I used mine until my speedo went completly retarded on me. Now I use the guage and take into account how much I've been driving since my last fill up

Yeah, it's a lot more accurate than your fuel needle.

I have gone below E many times on my sohc ej civic and the light has never gone on, I was too afraid to risk stalling it until the light goes on. I have never seen it go on.

Yes, when you insert the key and turn to start the car it comes on.

I've driven to work and back 3 or 4 times on the gas light before. I usually just drive till the light comes on, then go look for a gas station.
Also, the gauges aren't too accurate, if I'm driving up an onramp to the interstate, and its steep or angled, the gauge can drop from a half a tank to the gas light. Just because of the slant.

Exactly, when you hit a turn on the freeway, it's bound to move down and throw it off.

Sounds like some of you have Romanian gas tanks. Gas over there is rare. It's like $18 a gallon. The cars all have really small gas tanks so the rich dudes can't hog all the gas. The guys at the Hoinda plant get the tanks mixed up sometimes. Something like 1 our of 100000 US cars end up with the 6 gallon tanks.

Is that true?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Probably not. I filled up today from E actually, and it was around 10.5 gallons.
