Experienced opinions on a brake upgrade?
I had a pretty close call last night that got me thinking about brakes. (Long story short, a cop was responding to a call and blew the red light at high speed. I heard the siren just in time and scrubbed to a halt, but only with a two or three feet so spare. No harm done, but scary.)
I have the EX with 4-wheel discs/ABS and I'm wondering if they can be significantly improved upon. It saved my rear but I feel like my stopping distances could be a lot shorter. My last car (Volvo S70) was heavier but seemed to have a whole lot more stopping power. I'm pretty sure these pads are stock.
Are there any worthwhile street-worthy upgrades that I can make? How do you guys feel about the stock brake system?

pads will give u the most noticeable diference...if u wunna go all out on a mild set up i wud say pads, rotors, stainless steel braided lines, and high quality DOT 4 fluid...and if u got the cash sum new calipers, sliding calipers arent that great.......but if u wunna be a big balla then go for a big break kit
edit: SHAMELESS PLUG speaking of pads
i have a set of axxis ceramics for sale that fits 90-97 EXs if ur interested

Well, I have an '02 so unfortunately I'll have to pass on the pads. Thanks, though
. Are the AXXIS ceramics better than stock? The best?
The SS brake lines sound like a good idea. It won't change how much force is applied to the rotor but will build fluid pressure at the pistons faster, right?

if you can lock the wheels up, or get ABS to pulse, then the biggest upgrade you can make is better tires. then pads. the axxis pads are good, but i like the Hawk HPS better than the axxis pads i had before.
EBC Green Stuff pads, stainless steel brake lines, should be very good improvment. Make sure you drain thoughouhly, put in the best brake fluide you can find, and you should be good to go.
This is the potion I will take myself when I upgrade.
Hope it helps...
