Default a/c pulley wont budge.. cant change belt tension.. help!

okay so for the past couple days (its been in the 90's so im not too inclined to work outside) i've been trying to replace my alternator on my 93 del sol. i've run into a rediculous problem with trying to get the ac belt off. the tensioner (is that the right name) pulley that is supposed to slide up and down on that little bracket is completely seized up. i cant get it to budge at all. pb blaster and bfh failed pretty miserably at loosening it. im really not sure what to do other than remove the ac all together but i really dont want to do that, not with the weather we are having. i took the p/s pump out to make some more room, so anybody got any suggestions for getting this friggen thing to move? thanks

did you loosen the bolt on the side of the tensioner first?

theres two bolts that hold the bracket that the pulley is on if thats what your talking about, but those two are behind the pulley and theres only room to get a wrench in there, but the wrench is trying to stip them. the only other bolt i see is the long adjuster bolt on the top, which i tried taking all the way out since it doestn seem to be doing anything and them hammering on the back of the pulley (where it sits in the slider.. not the pulley itself).

correct me if im wrong...

i believe the pulley your talking about has one bolt (12mm) that holds it onto the acmount. then it has the long adjuster bolt. loosen the one that holds the pulley to the mount, and then loosen the adjuster bolt in order to push the whole pulley/bracket down and get the belt out.

hope this helps.
