Hey,

So I know when I put my Tanabe Super Racing Medallion exhaust on it'll be way to loud. I'm going to be running a test pipe, no cat. So, before throwing out my old *** rusted *** stock EG exhaust, I cut off the resonator.

I'm thinking I could weld that resonator into the tanabe piping. Here's the thing, will adding a stock resonator to a bigger diameter piped exhaust kill power?

As most of you know, resonators widen out from the actual pipe diamter to the full diamter of the resonator. I can cut enough pipe off the resonator to make it effectively be the same diameter as the Tanabe pipe, would that help?

Any help/insight would be appreciated. I'm installing the exhaust this weekend.

 

With not cat and a "straight through" muffler its going to be loud regardless.

Do you know how to weld? Because I don't think an exhaust shop can do it for you.

To me this seems like it would kill your power, if you weld the OEM resonator into your exhaust, just think about it.. The resonator is for a stock exhaust system, obviously your exhaust is aftermarket. I think if you put the two together the out come out wouldn't be very good.
