Honda-Tech should start a stolen car odometer. I bet it would be well into the thousands.
When my hatch was stolen (Torrance) they found it a few weeks later in Long Beach. They only took petty stuff (floormats, skateboard, clothes, slipstreams with bald tires). The car was nice but it was a mostly stock daily driver.
Good luck recovering it.

Gray Si hatch, ok???? What's the point of this post?
Seriously, make a stolen forum like other forums have had to do. These just clutter this place up, and they're not tech, so they're technically against the rules.
I don't mean to sound unsympathetic. Believe me, I've been ripped off and so have my loved ones. But there really is nothing we can do when someone makes this kind of post.

yes there is... the point of posting it in a tech forum.....
1. everybody comes into this forum ( wich means more people will read it )
2. helps get others in your area to keep a look out
3.i dont know... i think it would be better just taking the freaking space in a tech forum then postin it in a stolen forum.. because honestly... how many people do you think are going to go into the stolen forum everday if it ever is created>????

Fair enough. Then can we have some required guidelines?
The description has to be good enough to differentiate between the other hundred thoasand identical cars on the road. A picture should be required because most of us are not familiar with such and such brand rims and such and such brand bodykit.
What security was on the vehicle? Did the alarm shop take down your personal info like your address? Did you pay by credit card?
It should be updated whether the vehicle is found, and in what condition. What parts are missing. Update pics.
Tell us your best estimation of how it was stolen. Was there glass on the ground? After you get the car back, is the window smashed or intact? The key cylinders damaged? The ignition harness cut? The hood cable cut? The battery cable cut? The siren or alarm wiring cut? Does the alarm indicate that an additional remote was programmed to it? etc etc. Then at least we can learn to make our cars more difficult to steal.
IMO, this would qualify it as tech.

When the guidelines were published (no non-tech posts in this subforum), I purposely IM'd the moderator to see if "stolen" posts could be posted. He said, "Yes."
The reason why they are posted here is that there is a lot of visibility in the Civic subforum. It's just like Megan's Law...you plaster the pic/info and hope that someone spots it. I agree with you that further information should have been given, but it need not be as technical as what you proposed. To a young kid who doesn't have the inclination for the technical details, how would he go about posting?
Why not a picture, the identifiable mods, and where it was stolen...that would suffice.
