ok i need help fast so its well appreciated.........im going to get my car tuned tomorrow...and i finished my obd1 things yesterday...did all the wiring...and i jsut needed a distributor...so i bought a BRAND NEW distributor put it on and car wont start....then if i slap the main relay literally...all of sudden the fuel pump will prime but car still wont start....i was cranking and cranking it and 1 out of the 10 times i tried i got spark....but could not get spark.....i just need some other ideas...or do you guys think its defiently the relay....need help fast....(also mycar been having starting probelms for a while...but only when its warm).....and i can turn ignition all day and fuel pump wont prime unless i slap the relay ...but when i slap it...it still wont work...

Main relay sounds like the most logical choice. What you described right there is a classic symptom of the relay crapping out. It'll work for a while (maybe), but then one day it's just DONE.

I believe if your main relay is bad you should still get spark, from what I was told, the main relay only controls fuel supply and doesn't have anything to do with ignition

 

Main relday also supplies power to the ecu, so if that portion of the relay is bad, you would see no spark because the ecu is not on. You can check this using a voltmeter on pin A25 (blk/yel) at the ecu or even check it at the main relay itself. I am having the same problem with no spark. But I have a brand new OEM Honda relay know my ecu is powering up. Also have a MSD ignition and external cap. After work tonight i'm going to double check my distirbutor rewiring as well as ecu wiring.
