How would a bad/failing FPR show itself?

Default How would a bad/failing FPR show itself?

What wound some of the symptoms of a defective fuel press reg?

Bogging under wot? bad idle when cold?

test the fpr...

attach a fuel pressure gauge to the service port on the fuel filter, disconnect the vacum hose from the regulator and check the reading. did the pressure rise when u disconnected the hose? you should have around 35-41 psi with it disconnected. if the pressure did not rise check to see if the pressure rises when you pinch the return line slightly. if the pressure does not rise you got yourself a bad regulator.

I dont have a gauge handy yet

My car seems to be bogging and running rich could a busted fpr be dumping to much fuel?

I've heard that a FPR going out could cause this, but it could be a number of things also...try going to Advance Auto or some other parts store...sometimes they let you borrow tools - they may have a gauge.
