Default Hatch owners with kids please respond!

Hey guys,

Getting ready to buy a 97 hatch as my daily beater/gas sipper. Do infant car seats fit pretty good in the back? Reason I'm getting this hatch is that I'm getting a pretty good deal on it and I just needs some cheap reliable transportation. Can some of you hook me up with some pics? Thanks in advance!

One of my customers had a EK hatch with a baby seat in the back. Kind of funny seeing a baby seat in a hatch that makes 500hp to the wheels.

LMAO.

My ex-girlfriends uncle had a carseat that fit perfectly in the back of EJ1. I believe it would fit the same in a hatch as it did with the coupe.

I put two seats in the back of my coupe, they fit fine and the kids love riding in Daddy's car.

A friend has one in the back of his hatch... he says it's a little cramped getting in and out but it fits fine.

I can see that, but you shouldn't have any problems getting it in there.

Car seats fit perfectly. Just wach your back if you get in the car to strap the seat in the middle.

Hatches own

I dunno about a 3dr if you have younger children however.. a civic sedan would be much more practical

I have a five year old and I have a 2000 and 1993 Civic Hatch. My son's car seat fits fine in all two cars.

Thanks guys! I was just wanting to make sure I wasn't investing in something that I couldn't haul my kid around in!! He's not here yet (5 more weeks to go), but I like reassurance!

I had a del sol VTEC and loved that car. Bought a '99 Lightning shortly afterwards. Loved the torque in that beast! Due to gas being so high, I have to park it and get something a little more "economical and family friendly".

Thanks for the insight!!!

i had my hatch for 3 years with both my kids in it. never had any problems. just remove the passenger seat like i did so it's easy access to the rear seat. oh yea, don't think you're gonna throw a stroller in the back either. unless it's one of those umbrella strollers. good luck. you'll be fine.
