help fellow EK hatch owners!
help me out on what parts to order for my hatch conversion...
96-97
98-00
i know i have to get #26 and #29...but when it gets to the hatch i get lost...
(for those that don't know, in 1998 honda dumped the classic hatch poper lever and opt with a rear hatch handle instead...its SOOO ******* annoying to have to shut off your car or climb over the seats to open the hatch if its locked...)
thanks.

98-00 don't have it. you can't "pop" the hatch from the lever on the floor, you can only open with with a latch from the outside and you have to unlock it first. so if you hatch is locked and you want to pop it real quick at the airport or something, you have to shutoff the engine, unlock it then open the hatch...or climb over both the seats like a idiot to pull the lock.
basicly...ITS ANNOYING.

Never knew that, that's pretty gay. Well anyways, that sounds like a big conversion for a little lock. I say you make a spare key just for that.

Dood, just get an alarm and use a solenoid to pop the rear hatch with one of the extra alarm accessory buttons. You can sit in the drivers seat and press teh button=unlocks the rear hatch.

well from the way it is looking you will need 26, 23, and 29. but you might have to get the whole assembly. and not just a few parts.
what i would is if you have to money get the whole assembly and use what you need and then take it back what you dont need. just mine .02.
peace

thats looks like a pretty big job . i think you might have to take out some interior panels and back seats to be able to run the latch cables. but hey if your up to it, go for it. i'm just glad i have a 96

I get it now. I do the same thing, turn off the car and unlock it for them. I say just make a spare key or an alarm with keyless entry.
