Default Can I ditch the spring bolts at the axle back?

Well Im done installing my megan racing exhaust and high flow cat. I started the car up and checked for leaks. Everything is fine except for the axle back portion of the exhaust. I used the stock spring bolts in there and it just won't tighten the wa y i think it's supposed to. The bottom part of where the b-pipe and axle back meet are flush but the top part has a 5mm gap I would say.

I've tried tightening the hell out of the spring bolts but it didn't really do much for me. So I think if I put in normal bolts I can get it to sit flush all around.

Has this happened to any of you and do you think my idea will work?

I did not use the spring bolt on my megan catback. Just use two nuts and bolts and it's fine for me.
