Automatic tranmission stuttering. Is it going to die?
Hi,
My gf's car recently started to stutter while at a stop. I thought the engine was missing until I put the transmission in neutral and the stuttering went away.
I am going to take it to a tranny shop (tomorrow) to have them look at it. I have heard that if you swap the fluid when it hasn't been changed in a long time that it's like a death wish and failure will soon follow.
Has anyone ever encountered this?

my buddies car was like that, and when he went up steep hills it almost died...then he sold it cause he thought it just sucked, then the kid that bought it off him change the tranny fluid and stuff and it ran like new!!!
