B18B1 Overheating
Alright I have been on here all day looking up overheating issues and still unclear on what I should do. Obviously it is overheating but it does it really quik even at idle, I do know that my fan is not working but do not think this is the culprit because of it overheating while driving. What happens is it will get hot quik according to the gauge but it takes about 10 mins and I open up the radiator and steam comes out of the cap constantly and it also comes out of the rad resavoir and there will be coolant in the resevoir and it will bubble bad after I shut the car off after driving. I went to change the Thermostat and it appears that the last owner cut it up so it would flow at all times and I put a new one in there but have not driven it far because I do not want to damage the motor. What do you guys think?
If your car has over heated you're already f*cked. Sorry to say.
Not only that, you think the fan not going on isn't the reason why your car's over heating? Um...please just take the car to a shop where a mechanic can fix it. I don't think you're mechanically inclined to be fixing the problem yourself.

Yes the fan is out because of the Thermoswitch. If I was going to take it to a mechanic I would have already done it but unfortunetly I dont have the money to take it to a mechanic. One Im double checking that the head gasket is blown just wanting to get someone elses opinion. I thought thats what a forum was for?
your headgasket is blown, i would pull the head, have it checked at a machine shop to make sure its not warped, replace it with a new oem head gasket, waterpump and thermostat.
