Default help ignition switch problems

okay first off i know the switch is bad and no batt problems or starter issues, cuz the car will start but it dies as soon as i let go of the starter postion. because all the electrical will die when i let go, but it;ll start up agian if i crank it.

so i've went and replaced the switch, and now it won't even crank over. i checked the replacement switch with an ohm meter, no resistance given to any of the wires, so i know there is no bad wires within the replaced switch. any suggestions on what to do or look at? i'm pretty sure the switch is lined up correctly with the ignition cylinder because i get the resistance when i crank the key into the starter posistion and it goes back to position 2 when i let go of the key. any help would greatly be apreciated because i need to get to work sometime this week
