Adjustment range of 8041-RACE Konis
I know that the 8041-RACE dampers have much more aggressive bump settings than the Sports, and this is not adjustable.
How does the rebound adjustment range compare to the Sports? Is the lowest rebound adjustment of the 8041-RACE below the maximum adjustment range of the Sports?
500# F / 400# rear GCs, 2.5" drop - a good match? Not stiff enough?
TIA

The spring rates that you mention are going to be pretty much in the upper end of the range of the normal street Sport shocks and well within the range of the RACE units. But looking at the spring rate alone is fully ignoring the usage of the car, roads, your preferences, etc.
I have a set of the RACE units on the back of my CRX right now and they are a bit more aggressively valved that I really want for the 250,lbs springs, Greater Cinci streets and my preferences for ride quality. I am going to put the Sports back on the car. This car is my daily driver and I have a racecar if I want to autocross or do track events so some level of comfortable ride quality is important for my mix.
If you use the car for serious autocross, maybe some track events or racing and you are willing to swap some street comfort for that performance, then the RACE unit would be the way to go, especially since they are shortened and your 2.5 inch drop is pretty deep. If the car is primarily for street use, the Sports will be okay with those rates on the upper end but your 2.5 lowering would probably realy like the shocks to be shorter. I would for sure make sure that you have plenty of bump rubber there to protect them from bottoming. If you are on the fence, you could purchase the Sports and try them then have them revalved and shortened at any later date if you feel that you need more.

Thanks a lot Lee! I appreciate the response.
My street car: 93 Ex Coupe / 380F / 250R / 2" drop / OTS Koni Sports / GSR front / GSR rear sways
My less-streetable car: 92 Si Hatch / 500F / 400R / 2.5" drop / 8041-RACE / GSR front / ITR rear / BSQ subframe kit
I found a good deal on the 8041-RACE from a friend, and after reading your post am definately going the 500/400/8041-RACE route instead of Apexi N1 ExVs. I was just concerned with streetability of the setup. I'm not concerned with it now, as the car was never intended to be friendly to the streets of the 'Nati.
Just wanted to make sure it wouldn't have to be trailered to/from events.

where did you get your race konis at? I want these because my tein flexs are not holding up on the track(2 soft) and I want to get 600# in the front and 900# in the rear for the track set up and 400# in the rear for street setup.
