Default Mini-me

Well I have searched and searched and cant find anything about what I need. I got a d16y8 head and I want to put it on my stock d15b. what parts do I need and where can I find a detailed guide on how to do this? I want vtec soon. If you need to know, it is a 97 head that I got with the intake manifold, fuel rail, distributor, and vtec solenoid. The head is complete.

well since ur car is DPFI have a nice time with that since the head is mpfi. thiers a sponsor on here somwhere that takes ur dx harness and converts it too a si harness, pretty cheap like 130 shipped, u just have too send him ur harness and he puts it all together for you, also thats a plus because 88-91 si distributors bolt too a d16y8 head with no modification. so u don't really have too change much.
1.harness swap 130.00
2.si dizzy 35.00 off ebay or less
3.depending on how u want vtec too work, rpm ativated switches do not work they are useless, anyone that tells u otherwise is wrong. u should dig up a p28 ecu get em for like 80.00 on ebay these days
4.boomslang ecu harness you'll need one that will let u run the 4 wire o2 sensor and the vtec wires and all that jazz 130.00 shipped
5. d16y8 headgasket i belive this is the right one 45.00 from honda i think
6.new head studs i would reccomnd arp, since they are reusable, 120.00 shipped
7.get a header since ur stock exhaust manifold will do worse than good, 80.00 off ebay unless u can find a used one for cheaper.
8. new o2 sensor. 50.00 for a generic brand i think it comes from a for taurus call ur local auto parts store
9.are u getting a headache yet???
10.timing belt from a 93 cx or vx can't remember you'll have too measure. 25.00 autozone
11. new water pump and new tensioner, oem parts 50.00 maybe more
12.lots and lots of time and paitence
thats basically the jist of it of what u are going too need, personally i did this but it was on a d16a6 block and was much easier
but if u have money too burn go for it

Its EASY to do the mpfi swap. We are talking about adding 4 wires, not brain surgery. Read this guide a few times. You'll need some solder, some wire and a mpfi ECU.

If the y8 came with injectors, then get yourself some obd2 injector clips. I got mine from a honda-tech member for cheap. Also, I did the mpfi with the y8 parts and love it. I just got a y8 head so that is my next install.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but no one has given me a guide. Some tell me to get an ecu and others tell me not to. I don't know what to do
