where is the water temp sensor?

Default where is the water temp sensor?

I'm trying to install a water temp gauge in my h22. Anyone know where the sensor is?

thermostat housing or on the head near the upper radiator hose spout. i guess depends on what motor.

one on the thermostat housing is for the cooling fan the acutal ect is on the side of the head underneath the dizzy

It's the one pin sensor on the right side of the head.

i tried to install the auto meter sensor in the factory outlet for the sensor but i can get it in there. it a little big in dia.

With the autometer temp guage you have to cut a radiator hose and put a little pipe in there with the temp guage tapped or welded into the pipe. Heres mine, you can see it right below the distributor. It's a lot easier than tapping the block.
