Default LS B18B1 Cam Gear

I Got a 94 LS."USDM" and i put crower stage 2 cams in it, i asked the guy at the "tuner" shop if i needed gears, he said the only time i'd notice them is if i put it on a dyno. today my friend said that i need them to pull my car through the rpm's until redline......what should i do? plus i'm seeking boost in the future(and springs&retainers)

thanks man, i was wondering if it was worth the hassle.any suggestions on springs and retainers? what brand...i want boost, so i need them for the cams.plus i'm going for a ECU with no rev limiter, prolly not smart for an LS(from what i've been told) but i need springs for sure....

r u running stage 2 cams with stock retainers and springs? I thought it was required to change them with the stage 2's.

you might as well get cam gears because you will have to tune since you did get cams. i have stage 1's on mine and im still waiting to install my skunk2 cam gears.

What stage 2? 6402T's or 62403's? As for springs, it is suggested to upgrade.

Yeah? What is "Stage 2"? Crower doesn't work in "stages", at least they didn't several years ago when I got mine. The 402T's don't require their spring/retainers, but the 403's do. I didn't run aftermarket springs/retainers when I used their 402T's.

stage 2 turbo cams 62402t-2, i checked the crowers website and it says springs and retainers are required...i'm doing those before i boost it but a guy has a ECU with no rev limiter and more fuel. i dont know if its chipped or what but its only 90 bucks so i figured get it.but my motor has 156k and its my only car...no sure if its a good thing for me
