Default 2 fan switches in 3 weeks?

i have a 95 civic d16z6 turbo and about 3 weeks ago i had to replace the fan switch. i put a used one from a b series in it. now 2 weeks later i noticed my car over heating and the fan wasnt turning on again. so i put a used fan switch in off a d15 and the fan turns on again. any one had this happen before? or is it just the switches are used and there just going?

If your engine gets near overheating too many times it can melt the wax inside the thermostat, essentially preventing it from working properly. (Besides, its cheap and is one of those preventative maintenance type of things.) Now that you have a reliable working fan in there, you might need a new t-stat. Another problem might be the fan relay. I haven't heard of them being prone to failing, but that could cause the fan from switching on.
